Bridge Information
The Boat Dock Road Bridge was built in 1925 to provide access to a Marina on the Tennessee River. It is a riveted five panel Pratt Through Truss. The bridge was closed to vehicular traffic in August 2007 due to its similarity to the Minneapolis I-35W Bridge which collapsed earlier that month. Although the bridge was not in danger of collapse, it was never reopened to vehicles, although it remains open to pedestrians as part of the Tennessee River Greenway.
