Bridge Information
The NJ 173 bridge is often overlooked due to its proximity to the Main Street Bridge, but this bridge is also an important historic bridge. Built in 1926, it is a great example of a concrete encased steel through girder bridge, due to its lack of alteration and relatively good physical condition. This type of bridge isn’t particularly common and is not built in the modern age.
The bridge was rehabilitated in 2006 as part of a project to redesign the Route 173 and Clinton-Lakeview Avenue intersection.
